Sellability Scorecard

If you sold your company tomorrow, how sellable is it? Ten questions a buyer actually asks. Nothing is stored and nothing is sent — the score is calculated in your browser.

A buyer is purchasing future cash flows. Everything below is a test of whether those cash flows survive your absence. Answer honestly; the score is only useful if it stings.

  1. 1Is more than half your revenue contracted to recur without being re-sold?
  2. 2Is your largest client under a quarter of revenue?
  3. 3Can someone other than you close a new client?
  4. 4Can the work be delivered without you touching it?
  5. 5Is your delivery process written down well enough for a new hire to follow?
  6. 6Could you produce three years of clean financials this week?
  7. 7Is your gross margin above fifty per cent?
  8. 8Do you know your churn rate without looking it up?
  9. 9Have you been away two weeks without anything breaking?
  10. 10Do you have a lead source you can name and repeat?
